Categorical Order of Forms

The way we perceived the jacket was split into three individual forms; the first being the jacket itself, followed by a life-sized print of the jacket, and lastly a lexical description of it. In the film three models interact uniquely with each form of the garment, allowing us insight into the varying ways we connect ourselves with each form.

The film allows us to explore the dynamics and evolving mediums through which we perceive fashion within the world around us. We’re able to question how each form intersperses with the other, whether the physical form would hold its significance in the absence of its lexical form, and how this relates to the way we view garments. The film originally focuses on the separation of a denim jacket into three distinctive forms, however, our digital perception of it allows for a fourth, more profound medium through which the denim jacket can exist within.
